A couple of days ago, I was having an afternoon drink with a few people on La Terraza Del Bu, known for its lovely views and for the slowest table service in the Western hemisphere, when I spotted several beds filled with these fiery, velvety lilies:
It wasn’t a good moment to get up and start taking pictures, so I went back there the next morning, when the light was good and I could take my time. Daytime temperatures are approaching 40+ right now, and flowers don’t last for very long.
Beautiful flowers, and you’ve shot them really well too.

Oooh, what interesting flowers!
Lilies were my step mum’s favourite flower 🙂

I especially loved the colour of them… now they would match a nice pair of red boots 😉

Oh, definitely!
Although my bright red raincoat looked pretty hot with the boots 😉

You were missing some lilies in your hair to complete the outfit – maybe in the style of one of those Ukrainian flower crowns. You’d have stopped both lines of traffic, not just some weird drunk woman with shoe issues.

Ooh yes! My grandad was Ukranian so that would have been perfect…

I’m glad you went back! And how slow was the service?

I’m still there now, waiting to pay.

Isn’t there like a 24 hour rule? If they don’t bill you within that time the drinks are free.

You could get up and leave and they wouldn’t even notice. Due to my Teutonic conditioning, however, I am unable to do that. I’m like one of those electronically controlled supermarket trolleys that have their wheels blocked when they approach the perimeter ‘fence’.

I like cakes more… it’s just that flowers have a better chance of surviving an encounter with me, as I don’t generally want to eat them.

Those ones looked almost good enough to eat!
