Lovely Lisbon: Look Up, Look Down

Lisbon is a city that seems custom-built for travelwithintent’s weekly Look Up, Look Down challenge. And here’s proof:

Hurrah! I was looking forward to seeing the ups and downs of Lisbon. I haven’t been for such a long time. Looking at these, I realise I must put that right this year.

Have been there in summer for two weeks. In deed a very lovely place! I need to return sometimes in the winter, when it’s not so hot and not so crowded (I guess).
Thanks for your blog and the wonderful pictures (on the 2nd it’s an elevator, not a tram, right? I think I remember the place in Bairro Alto…)!

Hi there, glad you enjoyed them! I want to go back either in spring or autumn, when the weather should be perfect (if I’m lucky enough to miss the rain).
Yes, it’s one of those that just goes up and down one steep incline, so it is, effectively, an elevator.

I LOVE Lisbon! Are you moving there?
Definitely full of hills and man, those tiles are slippery. Don’t know how the elderly ladies walk in their tacones…

Hi there! Long time no see ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy New Year!
I think I will move there in maybe another three years or so. Not quite done with Spain just yet.
Oh man, those tiles sure are a killer on those rainy days. I fell over once, ironically, on a dry, sunny day and out of sheer clumsiness, rather than due to those treacherous tiles.

I’ve been on and off blogging. I found the tiles to be super slippery during driest of times. I almost fell about 10x within a weekend while wearing sneakers… I don’t know how the locals do it. Ha.

I’m just now catching up after the holiday break and I’m really enjoying your Lisbon series. Boy are those streets steep! I’d need an oxygen mask to walk all the way to the top.

Lisbon really is the perfect city to capture shots for this photo challenge – and I like the first two pictures the most – but all were beautiful and so different – now I want to visit someday too.
