Lisbon’s windows are full of character. I had to stop myself from taking thousands of window pictures. Here’s a small selection of them, each one very different:

Yup, I passed by at the right time 😉

I could envisage myself lying on the pillows, watching the sunset or something (depending of the orientation of the window, of course). Still the second is my favorite, really beautifully designed!
Thank you for sharing!

The stained glass is very pretty… and the colours remind me of art deco 🙂

I love the art deco style stained glass in photo two, but your capture of photo one is brill – the colours of those shutters, tiles and that matching striped cushion – well spotted! I just feel for those poor flowers though being squished by the bedding flung on top of it.

Really, really nice shots. I think the first one is my favorite. The colors are just amazing, and it’s immediately clear that you came at the exact right moment. Kudos!
Personally, I’m always drawn to doorways. One time I went around London and shot tons of doorway shots with the idea of making a poster or some such thing. So far it hasn’t happened, but maybe I’ll wrap some words around them and make a blog post.
Mexico also has wonderful doors, though in a rather different way than London. More faded, decaying, and older. I have a bunch of those too.
Happy 2014 and Saludos!

Where the doors are definitely more interesting than the windows.

Ah yes, London is great for doorways! Many of the old houses have beautiful mosaics around the bottom half of the door and on the path leading up to the door as well, although the latter are often in a sad state. Not surprising, after being trodden on for a couple of hundred years at least 😉
Why not put up some shots of your Mexican/London doors (if you haven’t already, and I’ve missed them)?

I’m about to post a series on our Magical Mexican Mountain Town Tour in the Spring. It should have some nice pictures, though perhaps not quite as nice as yours.

Ah yes, I remember, you left your *GOOD* camera in Rome 😉

When I got home, I replaced it with a better one, and some years later, and even better lens, so the MMMTT pics are decent.

That clearly didn’t leave much of an impression on me… however, I did watch some film with VM a few years back, set in London, I think, and something about the Russian Mafia… and there was a steam bath scene where you saw EVERYTHING. I do remember that…!

I have more of a liking for the baddies. Not necessarily the Orcs;-) Legolas’s daddy is my new fave in The Hobbit trilogy. Love his temper, nice contrast to his offspring’s insipidness.

Ha ha, I still haven’t seen any of them. My one sort of resolution for 2014 is to go to the cinema more! You and an orc would make for some interesting posts though… 😉
