Lovely Lisbon… Enjoy The Men!

Several of you (no need to mention names, we all know who you are!) have been bugging me about Portuguese men since my trip to Lisbon.

I’ve not been giving the “homens” nearly as much attention as The Cakes, but one can’t be too selfish with a raucous audience to please. So, I’ve rifled through my photos and picked out those featuring male specimens. Though I can’t vouch for their representativeness…

Surely, this is what every girl dreams about:

… some hot, steamy squash soup at the end of the day!

…but maybe dreamy boys are more your thing…?

Working men

…waaay too exhausted to work…! I wonder from what?!

Now here’s one who’s made an effort! Ready for your date??

Maybe if he ditched the costume and swapped the balloons for some flowers...?

Maybe if he ditched the costume and swapped the balloons for some flowers chocolates…?

Now that’s more like it!

Now THAT'S more like it :)

Ben Affleck, The Kaiser and Legolas rolled into one!

Soz... the top half of this specimen wasn't nearly as interesting as the foot end with the puppy chewing the laces ;-)

Soz… got distracted from the top half of this specimen by the cute puppy chewing away at the foot end.

Hmm, I would have said ‘dreamy’ was my thing until I saw those two πŸ˜‰ I then spent a scary amount of time trying to work out if Santa was cute under the beard or not (I think so) before hitting the jackpot with the sword guy πŸ˜‰ Puppy schmuppy…

Is that the royal ‘we’ or the German ‘we’ πŸ˜‰ I met the most beautiful German guy I’ve ever seen the other day. Possibly one of the best looking guys I’ve ever seen! Maybe a move to Germany is on the cards – except you guys generally speak English very well anyway!

Lash-me is my stage name πŸ˜‰ I am most assuredly not above average height – well not in many countries anyway! The other night I went out with 3 Dutch guys – I was up to their rib cages πŸ˜‰

I think I’d take a risk and go with Santa — even without seeing under the beard. Tall gets a lot of extra points in my book!

Well you have a natural talent then; the photos of the windows were great and so were the up and down shots. I am glad you like the pasteis de nata in Belem; I reckon the ones here in Sydney are better (I live near the Portuguese district). I am guessing the photo of the hunky guard was taken outside a palace near the cake shop in Belem? The PM or President’s residence? I took similar shots myself there on my last visit. All your photos brought back happy memories for me. Thank you

Aw, I’m glad they brought back happy memories. I’ll be putting more up over this coming week. I’ve also got a few nice ones of Sintra.

The guard – I have no idea, embarrassing or what! I snapped him somewhere in the Bairro Alto area.

Hi again, looking forward to the Sintra episode. Funny you should mention the teaching, over the past few days I bumped into an Australian who teaches at The Wall Street Institute in Paris and she said they are always looking for teachers there (as you said was the case with that school in Toledo that you barged into, haha). I would really love to do a “gap year” teaching somewhere exotic, and will look closely at it. In the meantime I will try to get some teaching experience here while juggling some journalistic responsibilities. What about you? You said you would like to do such a course. Are you likely to this year?

What an opportunity – grab it with both hands! BUT you could just as easily get work in Spain or Portugal. The Latin World is your oyster, even without teaching experience πŸ˜‰

This year… not sure. If so, then in the second half of 2014. I’ve got a move to Madrid planned in the spring, and until that is out of the way, I can’t even conceive of embarking on any other big projects.

While you did clearly save the best for last, Santa certainly has potential. I wouldn’t mind him coming down my chimney some night.

Where we think it’s hilarious you caught Santa in tennis shoes. LOL
