Spotted on Sunday in Madrid. There’s always something going on in La Latina! Perfect for travelwithintent’s Look Up, Look Down challenge, I thought 😉
La Latina is also the part of town that host an enormous market, El Rastro, every Sunday. There will be a post coming up on this shortly.
Oh so many hole jokes that, being a laydee, I will refrain from.

Oh dear….Are they blow-up legs?I look forward to your post on the market; I LOVE the markets in Spain and in the heat of summer my wardrobe consists entirely of cotton sundresses bought from the rastros.

Yes, they sure looked like inflatables… I wonder what happened to the rest it 😉
I wish I could buy clothes from the markets, but I’ve got an odd body shape and need to try everything on, ESPECIALLY dresses.

I have a short body, my Mum taught me to pull the straps up to get the waistline back where it should be!

LOL! Me, miniscule waist, enormous hips. I a size (or two!) smaller on top compared to my bottom half, which makes finding a nice dress quite a challenge. It’ll either be too baggy on top, or straining round my hips.

Thanks for the good memory… I walked to the market every Sunday to see how much trouble I cold get into spending money I shouldn’t and of course it was the best place to grab gifts for trips home.

Yes, it’s fabulous for that! You don’t even mind being stuck in a throng of punters for several minutes without being able to move. Not for the claustrophobic, the Rastro…

Madrid in general isn’t for the claustrophobic but it doesn’t beat Istanbul for that. Walking through the Square in Bakırköy, beginning to descend the steps all that can be seen is a sea of people. It’s incredible.

I can’t take it all the time, but when you’re not in a hurry, it’s OK. London tube is horribly crowded at rush hour, I didn’t really enjoy that so much when I lived there.

Haven’t been to London… yet… 🙂

Go, but avoid the tube between 7am-9am, and between 5.30pm-7.30pm, and you’ll be fine 😉

I will remember that! Rush hour is universal…

At first glance I thought it said ‘legs of Fatima’! Oh no, I thought- she’s the lady with the hands.
Whatta mistake-a to make-a 🙂
I am averting my eyes from the previous post. I have had a small cheese and tomato toastie, which is ample for my requirements 😦

Oh, here in Spain, her hands are all over the place, as you well know. I think she’d be delighted to finally be given a pair of legs!
What an abstemious luncheon. I’m disappointed for you, lol. (I had tortilla and salad, which was quite nice. Spanish tortilla made by a German, none the less, but NOT by me)

The more I learn about Spain, the more I’m convinced that Almodóvar’s work is mainly documentaries.

This reminds me of a bar (okay, strip joint) in New Orleans, called Big Daddy’s. They have a pair of mannequin legs swinging high over the entrance way. 🙂

Oh Jeeze, that’s scary. At least she’s not in bad shape! I am very curious about the market. Of course I didnt go there – I never ventured further than Corte Ingles in Arguielles, and Zara next to it, unless there was alcohol involved. I went to Prado like a week before returning to the States. Good times!

I’ve not got tons of photos of the market, just a handful. Will post them probably on Sunday 🙂

Isn’t there something similar in Lisbon? Trying to dredge it up from my memory! Not inflatable legs but a sculpture?

I must have missed that… next time I’ll be there with my camera 🙂

I could be imagining it 😉 Just went through my Lisbon photos – seems unlikely I wouldn’t have taken a photo! I did get mobbed by peacocks though 😉

I was just wondering where I could find a pair of inflatable legs. With red shoes of course. And lo and behold here they are. I’ll take two please. Feel free to deflate them for mailing purposes. 🙂

You’re in luck! This weekend, it’s buy two and get a pair of matching red suspenders free! Although, if you’re planning to walk on them, a pair of crutches may be more useful…

La Latina appears to have slightly swollen ankles. And shoes too small for her feet! Ouch!
