I bought some rather boring chicken thighs with the intention of making a giant curry, in case anyone’s wondering.

Well, I am officially on a diet now. There is no way I can now eat the chicken I brought for lunch.

I’m just trying to figure out what one would use it for? Surely there’s not a lot of food on/in that thing, right?

I’ve no clue… been wondering the same thing. Maybe to make stock or something…

Good God, people! Use a few bones like the rest of us. No need to be dealing in skulls.

Well, why not use the whole animal… I don’t really have a problem with it. Am curious to see if anyone knows how these are used…

The answer to the why not question (for me) is: because it skeeves me out. 🙂

It is used fire stock here, but I think I’ve heard people also like to eat right from it when grilled. No eyes though, first time I see it ready for sale with the eyes.

Yeah, it’s the eyes that got to me, lol!

It’s funny what you find in other cultures. I must admit I can’t see myself cooking this, but some people eat eyeballs and well, I have heard in Spain that they eat bull’s unmentionables so I guess a sheep’s head is pretty tame. Not sure about those snouts though…

“Unmentionables” are quite commonly consumed in lots of places… a while back an Icelandic friend made me eat some sheep’s ones… not bad at all. For me, a lot depends on the texture. I’m not a fan of ‘too squishy’ 😉

I must confess, I was a bit worried about you, in particular, when I put this up… glad to hear your recovery was virtually instant. I mean, a sheep’s head and a donut have very little in common. Though you could probably fit an eyeball nicely in the middle of the latter, if you were so inclined…

Ok, feeling slightly sick now…for some reason, I took another look at the picture to see if an eyeball really would fit in the middle of my donut. Yes, it would. No, I wouldn’t be eating it!
