I have to admit it. Last year, I went a bit crazy with flower photos. This year, I tried really hard to contain myself. But now my resolve is crumbling… Bavaria is all lush and green and in full bloom this month, and now that I’m back in dry-as-a-crisp Toledo, I feel an overwhelming compulsion to drape some cheery blossoms over my blog…
Phew, I feel a lot better already 🙂
The Japanese anemones are just glorious!

Oh, what a treat to wake up to 😉 Nah, they are lovely! I’m a bit in love with Bavaria I must admit!

It’s great at this time of year. In those dreary autumn months, however…

Doesn’t everything turn golden and dreamy?

Grey and dank… much like the UK/Ireland, I suppose. But with more trees. Lots more trees.

I must do some exploring 😉 There must be a week or so of golden dreaminess!

That first photo is a knockout. I love that delicate pink color. Japanese anemones, are they? I wonder if they can be grown where I live.

I guess any sort of temperate climate would do? They were growing like weeds… didn’t seem to be particularly fussy. Give it a shot 🙂

What a change from cakes! 😉 Those Japanese anemones in your first shot are great … I have some in my garden, not quite so prolific! And I’ve used them as subjects for some of my Beauty in Decay shots, where they don’t look as pink and vibrant!

Those were very prolific indeed!
I have more flowers coming up… and also more cakes 🙂

You can NEVER have too many flower photos as far as I am concerned. I even have a separate blog to accommodate my passion for the floral stuff: http://smallbluegreenflowers.wordpress.com/
and that first photo of the Japanese anemones is beautifully composed 🙂

Thanks! It even has a rustic Bavarian barn in the background 🙂

I’m so in love with the gardens in Bavaria. And don’t worry, you’re not the only one that takes a ridiculous amount of flower pictures! The only problem is that it gives me total garden envy. We have a big one, but it looks more like the local haunted house than anything else. I cleaned it up a ton this spring but it gets out of hand so fast, and vines are now my mortal enemy. I might have to hire an Oma to beat ours into shape for next year. 🙂

All that rain sure makes things grow. I don’t have a garden… I love the idea of one, but when it comes to keeping on top of it, I’m not sure I’m cut out for it!

You aren’t kidding. So. Much. Work. It doesn’t help that the owner of our house “prefers the wild look.” Or, as I like to say, “doesn’t want to locomote his ass up here from Neumarkt to clean up the garden.”

A machete and some weed killer will sort it out 😉

Well, we do have a sickle in the garage. The weed killer might have to be a covert operation next time BV is gone. He’s very anti-chemical (coughstereotypicallyenvironmentalcough).

Yes, wait till he’s gone, definitely 😉

I actually can’t be around them – I had boyfriends that bought me flowers and I would give them to my mom because I’m pretty allergic to pollen, but I still love to look at them 🙂
