Well, not quite… but it got your attention, didn’t it? 😉
Toledo has a brewery that makes Domus, aka “La Cerveza De Toledo”, whose proud history goes all the way back to … erm… 2007. (Sorry, this is my Bavarian heritage scoffing here…). BUT, I have to admit, the stuff ain’t half bad.
On Friday, Carmen alerted me to the fact that they were running a two-week promotion: two bottles of the brew and one ‘special’ tapa, featuring Domus as an ingredient, for a fiver, with 27 local restaurants/bars participating.
So, today we went off to investigate.
These mussels in creamy sauce were divine…
Chicken wings with caramelised onions. Lovely 🙂
We scoffed more than just those, but the pics didn’t turn out so well. One of us – either my camera or I – was struggling to focus…
We may have to do this again next week.

6 beers a night for nine nights in a row?! I’d be hospitalised! I had 3 beers this weekend (1.5 on Friday and 1.5 on Saturday) and I still have a headache!

I can’t do it either. Nor do I want to, to be perfectly honest. I enjoy a drink much more if I’ve not had one for a few days. I wish it was the same with cake…

Seems like I’ve already got a German – and 27 restaurants in that time period is not unmanageable 😉 I’m pretty close as we speak! And Anna has no stamina – very disappointing for a Russian – I had high hopes. I guess her German finds it endearing though 😉

You’re gonna be jealous: when the Belgrade restaurant I’ve been dying to go to for weeks turned out to be booked for a wedding, the manager gave me two BOXES of 4 different kinds of cake – FOR FREE! One most poppy-and-something kind is borderline orgasmic – and you KNOW I dont get this excited for cake!

The seafood is much better along the coast, but at least some of it reaches us here. I envy you the herring, though. I so want some decent herring…

When I (M) see those chicken wings I think: ‘The incredible melting man’ – arguably the 1970s worst film. Would have been more enjoyable with a bottle or two of that Domus.

I tried a bottle of the Domus lager when I was in Toledo – not too bad, quite a distinctive sweet taste but think I just about preferred the Mahou on draft!

There’s another one called Speranto… it’s only been on the market for three years and it’s made in Toledo. I’ve not tried it yet, though.
