Not another lake, I hear you groan. Not the Bavarian Alps AGAIN…! But yes, I’m afraid, I’ve just got to cram one more in before I’m done with this year’s home visit 😉

Tegernsee is another one of these fabulous destinations just an hour from Munich on the train. Although it is most definitely a tourist destination, foreign tourists don’t really know about it, so I’d say that probably 95% of tourists are Germans.

And now, to give your Alps-and-lakes-weary eyes a rest, a couple of shots from a trip we took to Wasserburg, a medieval town in Upper Bavaria, circled by the river Inn.

    What a beautiful place! I have to tell you this…those traditional dresses, well, a work colleague, German lady, tuned up in one at a school function, complete with an apron, I couldn’t stop staring – first of all I thought she was going to help out behind the bar! It was beautifully made and she did look fab in it though 😉

    The land is pretty – the architecture gorgeous. Everything looks so CLEAN in every shot. Germany has no air pollution at all? No dust? People re-paint every single year? So so pretty. And thanks for the Owl.

      People here do have a major preoccupation with maintaining their properties spic ‘n’ span. There is some air pollution, yes, as you’d expect in an industrialised country with lots of car traffic, but legislation on what vehicles and factories can “put out” are pretty strict. Having spent three weeks in Beijing once has cured me of all complaining about air pollution in Europe. My brother made me take that owl pic 🙂

    Um, I am so totally NOT groaning, because Bavaria is awesome and its lakes are even awesomer. Also, I wish I had an excuse to buy that traditional Bavarian dress – there were SO many pretty ones in Munich, but they were no cheap! Esp for something I wouldnt have a reason to wear…

    I’m not one to complain about an alp or two. I might even go back and read the previous post! 🙂 My son has spent the past several days in Munich. watching football and frequenting beer halls so far as I can gather. Bit of a waste but then, he’s young!
