hey! I came looking to see what I’ve missed (since being obsessed with my idiotic country’s pr*sident*) and found this fabulous post full of lovely photos (how’s THAT alliteration huh? he he). then wandering through the comments so I had to reply. Interesting year full of LACK of snow here in the twin cities. Lots of snow and cold were forecast for this winter. Just didn’t happen. So weird to see virtually NO snow at the end of February! The only snow left are the piles in parking lots. Plus, I haven’t worn my boots in nearly two weeks?!?!?!? Unheard of!! okay, done pontificating now 😉 LOVE these photos!!
I like the second barbed wire fence snap – the interesting wood of the fence with a little pillbox hat of snow. But I confess I was scrolling kind of quickly – heading for the cake photo at the end: it has been too long! And then there was No Cake! Well! There must be a second post very soon with all the desserts that were not included in this post. I will be impatiently waiting. Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
There is no question that a fresh, clean blanket of snow is pretty and makes just about everything photogenic. Getting out for a walk during and after a snowfall is irresistible.
… but like Kim, I was waiting for the cake. You had us work up an appetite and then NO CAKE.
What! No cake? Eh, who needs it when your whole world is frosted. 😀 We are being teased by the weatherman that snow is coming this Fri/Sat. I’ll believe it when I see it.
The 11th one, where the snow laden branches look like a dancer twirling away. And, the sun through the trees, and the weird bulbous post with the snow cap on, and the other of the snow on the leaves and the boat on the water… all of them!!
So beautiful and such great captures. Although you didnt have a white christmas, you do have a beautiful start to 2017. Hope you have an amazing year ahead!!
Beautiful pics – just rainy and shitty here! How much longer are you there for?

Gorgeous! I love the photo with the sun shining through the tree.
We returned to Switzerland to find it snowing, but it hasn’t since then. Still some white on the ground though, and more forecast for overnight.

Everybody seems to like that one best 😉 Well, looking at the weather today, I’m sure glad we got that walk in yesterday!

Beautiful. No snow in Dublin. Just clouds and cold. It’s been years since I lived in a place where it actually snows.

You never know, you might get a transfer to Minnesota… but enjoy Dublin while it lasts 🙂

I hear they have some good microbreweries there. That would help me get through the winter.

I was waiting for someone to catch me out on this, LOL. In fact, there WAS cake on that outing. Blueberry quark strudel. YUM 🙂

I was thinking of looking it up, but decided to ask, but you’ve made me look it up anyway. In my search I not only found out what it was, but found a recipe for making quark as well. Is this a good method? —> https://www.splendidtable.org/story/quark-its-easy-to-make-this-two-ingredient-cheese-at-home
