People always ask me if Munich is a beautiful city. I answer in the affirmative, but without giving it much thought, and nor do I recall in detail what the city is like.
Munich is a 20-minute train ride from my home town and I went to school there for a few years. We all know that when we see something nearly every day for a prolonged period of time, we stop paying attention to our surroundings, no matter how scenic they may be.
On Wednesday, I had arranged to meet up with a friend in Munich town centre. I got there a couple of hours early for a hot date with my favourite bookshop – imagine! six floors ramshackle full with my most favourite things in the world besides cakes – and also to snap a few pics for the blog.
The light that evening was perfect, and I re-discovered that Munich really is a very beautiful city.
(Bear in mind that I only had enough time to dart around within a 10-minute radius of the main square, the Marienplatz. There’s so much more to see….)
The other thing that struck me on my mini photo mission was just how colourful the city is. The golden light of the setting sun augmented the effect.
Munich really is beautiful! I don’t think I’d want to live there though – too big, too crowded. But lovely for a visit.

Why is this even a question? I thought the city was absolutely love when I visited – and it was on a grey and semi-rainy almost-November day. Cannot wait to go back! I saw all the sites in your pix except for the boar – I must see the boar! (and then eat one).

The boar is right outside the Jagdmuseum, in the Fussgängerzone between Marienplatz and Karlsplatz.
…and I do like eating them… this particular one looks a bit tough, though…

That is beautiful, but I’m stuck on the bookstore that is six floors. I want to go!

I spent too much money in there again… very dangerous, that place!

The Opera House is a bit ‘Russian’ alright! The rest looks beautiful though – can’t believe I still haven’t been there! Maybe next winter… 🙂

Search term of the day (or possibly of all time) – an awesome woman is interesting to give her sexy son a blowjob in the shower. Wow. 🙂

Munich is beautiful in that it genuinely expresses German culture through its architecture, which is truly amazing to experience. I love Bavaria in general as it is immensely rich geographically, historically and culturally.

Hi there!
I’m slowly coming to the same conclusion… after 22 years of not having lived there 😉

Oh, and I’ve got some nice pics coming up (not as nice as yours, I realise) taken at Starnberger See. I’ll post them in a few days.
