Scrummy looking! Fortunately, I was already eating cake when I viewed this so It didn’t make me too jealous. Couldn’t find pumpkin cake so I’m on plum cake instead!

Oooooh, plum cake! If you look at the picture closely, to the far right, there’s a tray of zwetschgendatschi (a type of Bavarian plum cake). Usually eaten with lashings of whipped cream.

Hoho… I love plum cake, and have yet to find a good recipe, so I can make my own (as I don’t live in a land where you can get a decent one)

Yummy looking cakes and what great names – zwetschgendatschi sounds a lot more exotic than flapjack or eccles cake!

I like all of them… but zwetschgendatschi is really something that needs to be made fresh, it’s not a ‘packaged food’, like most British cakes nowadays. I know they didn’t start off like that 😉
