Cee’s Which Way? Challenge: Passageways, Light And Dark

For this week’s Which Way photo challenge, I’m offering two contrasting entries, taken at historic buildings in the Castilla La Mancha region of Spain:

Walkway in the Alcázar (Fortification) of Toledo

A sunny walkway located on the exterior wall of the Alcázar (Fortification) of Toledo

...and the entrance to a dingy dungeon inside Consuegra castle

love, love, LOVE, the first image where your eye is drawn to that door at the end, and the shadows replicating the brickwork – a very good composition. Don’t like dungeons though 😦

The Romans had a big influence round here… we’ve got a huge Roman circus, partially excavated, just outside the town wall. Not that this has anything to do with those two buildings in particular 😉

I never even noticed that walkway until a few weeks ago. It’s right by the entrance to the library, and I’d been in and out of there dozens of times! I just don’t pay any attention half the time…

To think they had chandeliers in their dungeons — how absurd! The picture entices to further explore what might lurk in the dark beyond. In the first picture the way seems clear and open – but what if the danger lurks behind the pillars? Anyway – much to stimulate phantasy – both directions.
