Is Gibraltar Ready For Us…?

Ever since we got here on Friday night, we’ve been eyeing it up. THAT rock. It’s in groping distance from Algeciras. And we absolutely want to go there.

So, today’s the day. At noon, Maria, her sister Paula and I will head for Gibraltar. I’ve no clear idea what to expect… which is probably best πŸ™‚

Gibraltar

Gibraltar from a beach in Algeciras, where Maria and I are staying.

Seems we're not the only ones wondering about it...

Baboons… that’s not what they are! They were surprisingly laid back as well, those monkeys. Can’t wait to check the pics. What a trip! I feel like I’ve been to another planet.

The Rock features so prominently in literature, history, and various expressions that it has almost a mystical quality to it for those of us “over the pond”. Looking forward to hearing about your adventure πŸ™‚

I have to ask – do you eat the walnut (if there is still a walnut) first or last? And do you stick your tongue in to get at the filling or bite it?

I bought the Easter egg edition, so instead of a walnut, you’ve got one of those sugar-coated little egg things sitting on top. But that’s the first thing I bit off, which is what would have happened with the walnut πŸ˜‰

Then I just eat the rest. No licking out the marshmallow innards.

I do like a ferry ride πŸ™‚ Not sure about Gib. It’s one of those places I want to check out but I’m not sure I’ll like it. The views across the water are good though.

How has no one comment to appreciate the short shorts in the final picture? Well, consider it done and done.

Also, good luck on getting there. Hope you don’t need to swim.

There’s something so comforting about a packet of chocolate buttons though, they take me back to childhood – along with a finger of fudge, of course πŸ˜‰
